COLORBOND® STEEL FINISHED CLADDING AND ROOFING PRODUCTS
COLORBOND® steel cladding and roofing materials provide a gorgeous look for an outer façade that can be customised to fit any design, environment, or architectural concept.
COLORBOND® steel is a stunningly gorgeous finish that is manufactured to Australian Standards (AS1397 and AS/NZS 2728) and tested in Australian environmental conditions. COLORBOND® steel is one of the most durable metal cladding and roofing materials available, with the added virtue of neither chipping or cracking.
Setting a new industry standard for durability, resilience, and sustainability, next-generation ZINCALUME® steel fulfils the expanding needs of a changing built environment, giving you the confidence to build for years to come.
The revolutionary Activate® technology in next-generation ZINCALUME® steel incorporates magnesium into the aluminium-zinc alloy coating, boosting galvanic protection by activating the aluminium. As a result, the protective coating is more durable and resistant to scratches and scuffs that occur during construction.
The new protective coating extends the product life of next-generation ZINCALUME® steel while utilising fewer metal resources. In all 18 Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) categories tested, next generation ZINCALUME® steel AM125 has a less environmental impact than ZINCALUME® steel AZ150.
Over 5,000 panels have been tested in a range of laboratory and’real world’ environmental situations over a 17-year span. In addition, 50 construction sites with a diverse variety of uses, as well as five purpose-built test buildings, have been put to the test in the real world, including harsh maritime situations. As a result, next-generation ZINCALUME® steel can be trusted to be more robust and resilient.
Roofing applications constructed from next generation ZINCALUME® steel will be guaranteed by a warranty of up to 36 years, including guarantees that are more suited to maritime situations, beginning in August 2013.
Only BlueScope Steel produces next-generation ZINCALUME® steel, which will be recognised by a trademark mark printed on the steel. If you look for the brand, you can be confident it complies with AS1397 and the BCA’s “deemed to fulfil” standards for roofing and walling applications. ZINCALUME® steel AM125 should be specified precisely by name.
